Hutsy Financial Terms of Service

Terms of Service Effective Date: July, 2025
1. Eligibility
  • At least 18 years old
  • A resident of Canada or the United States
  • Able to form a legally binding agreement
2. Services Provided

Hutsy provides financial tools including:

  • Bill monitoring and coverage when your balance is low
  • Subscription tracking and cancellation features
  • Notifications about upcoming payments
  • Optional financial benefit services for employers (if applicable)

Note: Hutsy does not issue loans. Instead, we directly pay approved bills and schedule repayment based on your income schedule.

3. Account Registration

To use Hutsy, you must:

  • Create an account with accurate and current information
  • Connect your bank account using a secure third-party service (e.g., Plaid)
  • Keep login credentials secure

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Fees

Hutsy charges:

  • Annual Membership Fee: $120 CAD/USD (based on your region)
  • 5% service fees of your bill amount, when we cover your bills
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We only collect payment when funds are available in your connected account.
5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use Hutsy lawfully and ethically
  • Provide and maintain accurate financial data
  • Repay covered bill amounts as agreed
  • Avoid any fraudulent or deceptive activity
6. Bill Coverage Criteria

You may receive notifications for bill coverage if:

  • Verified recurring income
  • Active, valid bank account with available balance
  • A paid Hutsy membership
  • Account not in default or suspension
  • Coverage approval is at our sole discretion
7. Cancellations & Refunds

You can cancel your membership at any time via the app:
Settings → Membership → Cancel Membership

Important Cancellation Information:

  • Your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period
  • Pending payments may still process even after cancellation if initiated
  • No future payments will be collected after your membership ends
  • Refunds are not provided except where legally mandated
  • By confirming cancellation, you acknowledge and agree to the above
8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive activity
  • Fail to repay Hutsy-covered amounts
9. Limitation of Liability

Hutsy is not liable for:

  • Missed or late payments not due to our error
  • Issues caused by banks, payment processors, or third-party services
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our maximum liability is limited to fees paid by you within the past 12 months.

10. Privacy

Your personal and financial information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Hutsy after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
