Hutsy allows users to connect financial accounts through third-party financial-data providers, including providers such as Plaid.

When you connect a financial account, Hutsy may receive financial information made available by the applicable provider.

Depending on the account and provider, this may include:

  • Account type;
  • Account identifiers;
  • Account balances;
  • Transactions;
  • Merchant information;
  • Income and deposit information;
  • Spending information;
  • Cash-flow information;
  • Recurring payments;

Hutsy uses this information to provide personalized financial insights, analyze spending and cash flow, answer questions, generate financial action plans, provide proactive alerts or coaching, and improve the Services.

Hutsy does not generally receive or store your online banking username or password. Those credentials are handled by the applicable financial-data provider.


4. Payment and Subscription Information

If you purchase a Hutsy subscription, we and our payment processors may collect information related to your payment and subscription.

This may include:

  • Payment status;
  • Subscription status;
  • Billing date;
  • Amount charged;
  • Failed payment attempts;
  • Successful payment attempts;
  • Cancellation status;

Hutsy may use third-party payment processors to handle payment-card information.

Hutsy may not directly store your complete payment-card number.

Authorized Hutsy personnel may review customer conversations for product improvement, customer support, quality assurance, safety, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and service improvement.

Because Hutsy is primarily delivered through text messaging, we may use your phone number to provide:

12. We Do Not Sell Your Financial Data

Hutsy does not sell your connected financial-account information to data brokers.

We do not sell your bank transaction history for third parties to use for unrelated advertising purposes.

If our practices change in a way that legally constitutes a “sale” or “sharing” under applicable privacy law, we will provide any notices and rights required by law.


13. Advertising and Marketing

Hutsy may use advertising platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok, or similar providers to advertise Hutsy and measure marketing performance.

Depending on the technologies used, these providers may receive limited information such as:

  • IP address;

  • Referral information;
  • Conversion events; and
  • Advertising identifiers.

Hutsy does not intentionally provide connected bank transaction information to advertising platforms for targeted advertising.

When you request deletion, Hutsy may delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to:

  • Financial-recordkeeping obligations;
  • Security requirements;
  • Dispute-resolution needs;
  • Backup retention periods; and
  • Other lawful purposes.

Certain aggregated or de-identified information may remain after account deletion because it can no longer reasonably identify you.


17. Disconnecting Financial Accounts

You may disconnect connected financial accounts using methods made available through Hutsy or the applicable third-party provider.

Disconnecting an account may prevent Hutsy from receiving new financial information from that account.

Previously received information may be retained in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Disconnecting your bank account does not automatically cancel your Hutsy subscription.


18. Security

Hutsy uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

These safeguards may include:

  • Encryption;
  • Access controls;
  • Authentication systems;
  • Secure infrastructure;
  • Logging and monitoring;
  • Restricted employee access;

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting access to your phone, email account, and other credentials used with Hutsy.

Because Hutsy operates through text messaging, anyone with access to your phone or messages may be able to view communications from Hutsy.


19. Children

Hutsy is not intended for individuals under the age of 18.

We do not knowingly offer Hutsy accounts to children.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18 in violation of applicable law, we may delete the information and terminate the account.
